Legal notice and privacy
What you should know before dropping a document here: who publishes this service, where it is hosted, and what happens to your files. The answer fits in one sentence: they never leave your computer.
Your files stay with you
Lekteo reads your invoices entirely inside your browser. The file you drop is not uploaded, not transmitted, not stored and not analysed on any server. It is not kept between visits either: close the tab and nothing remains.
In practice that means three things. You can open a confidential invoice without putting your company at risk. You can use Lekteo offline once the page has loaded. And we could not hand over your data even if asked: we never had it.
Personal data
No account is required. No personal data is collected by the service itself: no form, no advertising tracker, no data resale.
The only things kept on your device are your display preferences — light or dark theme, chosen language — and, where applicable, your answer to the funding question. All of it is stored locally in your browser and is erased by clearing the site data.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have rights of access, rectification and erasure. They are exercised with the publisher at the address given below — bearing in mind that, absent any collection, there is in practice nothing to consult or erase.

Limits of the service
Lekteo displays the content of an electronic invoice and flags discrepancies against the European EN 16931 standard. It is a reading and checking tool, not accounting, tax or legal advice, and not a platform for submitting or transmitting invoices.
A document reported as compliant by Lekteo remains subject to the judgement of your accountant and of the tax authorities. Conversely, a reported finding does not make your invoice invalid: it points at something to check with the issuer.
Intellectual property
The texts, the interface and the code of Lekteo are protected. The typefaces used (Inter, Source Serif 4, JetBrains Mono) are distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
The names "Factur-X", "ZUGFeRD", "XRechnung", "UBL" and "CII" designate specifications published by their respective bodies and are quoted for information only.
